White Cliffs of Dover
The White Cliffs of Dover are the most famous symbol of the Channel port in Kent. This eight mile stretch of coastline is a recognizable landmark to those approaching the port of Dover from the English Channel. The cliff face, which reaches a height of 350 feet, owes its striking appearance to soft, white chalk, which is rare geologically; it is a very pure form of limestone. Officially designated an Icon of Britain and recognized throughout the world, they have been seen by the nation as a sign of security, inspiration, hope, and freedom for centuries.

Stop along the coast to visit one of the longest stretches of undeveloped coastline in the south of England.  From beautiful sea vistas, towering chalk cliffs, rockpools, and bird watching, it's certainly a lovely way to spend some time in the fresh air.

Take the ferry from Portsmouth over to the Isle of Wight.  The journey will take approximately 45 minutes.

After taking the ferry to the Isle of Wight, explore this small island known for its beaches.  You can visit Osborne Estate, which is the former royal summer residence of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert.  The Prince designed the house himself in the style of an Italian Palazzo!  Stop at The Needles, well known as a family fun attraction with something to suit everyone.  For those not afraid of heights, there is a chairlift that will provide stunning views over the water.  One of the many stunning beaches, Ventnor Beach is loved by all.  Spend some time with your toes in the sand, or take a dip in the ocean.

Take the ferry from the Isle of Wight back to Portsmouth.  The journey will take approximately 45 minutes.

Jurassic Coast Sightseeing
Sandbanks Beach, Dorset
Located on a small peninsula, Sandbanks Beach has been a consistent Blue Flag winner for over 30 years.  It's golden sand, beautiful views, and clean water make it an ideal place to relax and swim. 

Shell Bay, Studland, Dorset
Soft sands and grassy dunes characterize this beach, which is often less visited than some of its neighbors due to its more remote location.  Warm, blue waters beckon visitors to jump in!

Jurassic Coast Sightseeing with Durdle Door
Stop at Durdle Door along the Jurassic Coast, one of Dorset's most photographed landmarks.  The Jurassic Coast spans for over 95 miles, from East Devon to Dorset.  It is the only natural World Heritage Site in England, and is also a UNESCO site due it its rocks, fossils, and landforms.

Stop in Botallack along the Wild Tin Coast, a seven mile stretch of coast with a rich mining history.  It's most notable sights are the Crowns engine house clinging to cliffs, Botallack Mine, and various walking paths.  It was also a filming location for the BBC's show Poldark.

St Michael's Mount Sightseeing
From ancient cobbles to castle walls, travel through time and tide to St Michael’s Mount. You may wish to tread medieval pathways, explore sub-tropical gardens, or climb to the castle.  Admire the views, hear the islanders’ tales, and unearth a history that lives on.

Port Isaac & Coastal Towns
Padstow at Leisure
Stop in Padstow, a fishing port on the north coast of Cornwall.  One of the main features is the beautiful harbour, which you can take a stroll along to soak up the boats and atmosphere.  Less than a 10 minute walk from the town are several beaches, and more just a short ferry ride away!  Boat trips onto the water are possible, and there's the country estate of Prideaux Place nearby as well. 

Port Isaac
Port Isaac is a traditional fishing village with a vibrant local community, in north Cornwall, and home to the TV series Doc Martin starring Martin Clunes. It's a truly picturesque village with narrow winding streets lined with whitewashed cottages that head down to the harbour where you can watch local fishermen landing their daily catch of fish, crab and lobsters.

Tintagel Castle
Immerse yourself in history, myths, and stunning scenery at Tintagel Castle, set high on Cornwall's rugged north coast. It is legend to be the birthplace of King Arthur, and for centuries this dramatic castle and coastline has fired the imaginations of writers and artists. 

Overnight: Imperial Hotel, Barnstaple
Stay at the Imperial Hotel, located in the center of Barnstaple, overlooking the River Taw. There is a formal restaurant serving 2 and 4-course dinner, as well as the Colors Bar and terrace lounge. The hotel is only a few minutes' drive from the beautiful North Devon coast. The coastal village of Clovelly, with its 14th-century harbor, and the beautiful Lynton and Lynmouth coast are also nearby.

Valley of the Rocks & Driver Services Conclude

The Valley of Rocks is located to the west of Lynton and is arguably the most spectacular scenic location on Exmoor. It is reached by an easy walk from Lynmouth, as is the River Lyn. Enjoy the 4.0 kilometer loop trail that features beautiful wild flowers and is rated as moderate. The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, nature trips, and bird watching.

Dunster Castle
Visit Dunster Castle, with 1,000 years of history the castle has plenty of great stories to tell. The last family to live here, the Luttrells, moved in in 1376 and out in 1976. Explore the grounds of possibly one of Somerset's best kept secrets.

Overnight: The Bull Inn, Sonning-on-Thames
Stay in this historic, riverside, timber framed pub and boutique hotel in the village of Sonning.  With only 7 bedrooms, it's a quintessential British country inn experience.  It has also been featured in the 1889 novel Three Men in a Boat by Jerome K, a humorous novel about the author's travels that have been adapted into audiobooks, movies, and plays.  The Bull Inn claim to have some of the best pub food in the area, with their chefs using local produce to create their dishes.  The bedrooms are individually decorated, and offer a cozy and traditional experience.
